Superintendent Resigns After Allegedly Pooping on High School Track Daily

Back in May, a high school in New Jersey got to the bottom of why human turds were showing up on its track “on a daily basis,” discovering that—in a twist like something out of a weird, poop-themed Dan Brown novel—the alleged culprit was the superintendent of a neighboring school district. Now, almost three months later, the accused pooper is out of a job.

According to NJ.com, Dr. Thomas Tramaglini resigned from his gig with the Kenilworth Public School District Thursday. He’d been put on paid leave after the cops allegedly caught him in the act on the school’s track, where they quickly arrested him. Now it looks like his days as a suspected serial shitter—and yet somehow still the head of an entire public school district—are over.

“Based on events unrelated to his service for Kenilworth, it has become clear to both Dr. Tramaglini and the Kenilworth Board of Education that his continued service as Superintendent of Schools has become too much of a distraction to the main mission of the district,” Kenilworth’s Board of Education wrote in an email to staff.

Job or no job, Tramaglini still isn’t going down without a fight. He’s insisted that he’s innocent of any and all fecal-related accusations levied against him, which his attorney called “falsehoods”—telling NJ.com that Tramaglini “looks forward to his day in court.”

“Dr. Tramaglini will continue to fight the allegations made against him in Holmdel, and will also hold those responsible for the malicious narrative that has been spread about him to account for their misconduct,” attorney Matthew Adams said in a statement. “No aspect of this difficult decision should be construed as an acknowledgement of guilt. Dr. Tramaglini is steadfast in his resolve, and looks forward to the day when his full story is told.”

We, too, are looking forward to hearing the “full story” behind how anyone winds up getting arrested on a high school track with their pants down. If we’re lucky, the Mad Pooper and the Shit Bandit might take a hint from Tramiglini, and we’ll finally come closer to answering a legitimately confounding question: What’s the deal with people pooping in public?

Idaho inmates hacked prison tablets and stole $225,000

Inmates in five Idaho prisons exploited a vulnerability on their JPay tablets to steal almost $225,000 worth of credits, according to officials. The Idaho Department of Correction said 364 prisoners boosted their JPay account balances, according to The Associated Press. The department unearthed the issue earlier this month, and noted taxpayer dollars were not affected.

Prisoners can use credits to buy music, ebooks, stamps (to pay for email and inbound video messages), games and even the JPay tablets themselves. They can use the tablets to catch up on the news, access educational materials and view photos and videos. Inmates’ loved ones can buy the tablets for them, and talk to the prisoners with a video chat visitation.

After prisoners seemingly communicated with each other on how to exploit the vulnerability, one inmate transferred almost $10,000 to their account, while 50 added more than $1,000. JPay has blocked inmates from downloading music and games until they pay back the company, though they can still use email. JPay has recovered over $65,000 worth of credits so far. Officials have disciplined the inmates who were allegedly involved; they may lose privileges and could be deemed a higher security risk.

Scared to death’: Miami Haitians fear family separations if protected status expires

Warning of the potential for a new family separation crisis within South Florida’s sprawling Haitian and Central American neighborhoods, immigrant advocates and Haitian-born recipients long shielded from deportation are calling for the Trump administration to extend their Temporary Protected Status prior to the 2019 deadline.

Parents who came to the U.S. following the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti, and their U.S.-born children — plus many Haitians who were already living in the U.S. — say they fear mass deportations and family separations if the federal government does not act quickly.

Immigration attorney Adonia Simpson of Americans for Immigrant Justice urges President Trump to find a permanent solution for TPS during a press conference at Family Action Network Movement (FAMN) in Miami, Tuesday, July 24, 2018. In one year, the termination of TPS for Haiti will become effective. Sam Navarro snavarro@miamiherald.com

“I’m scared to death,” said 11-year-old Christina Ponthieux, whose parents are both recipients of the protected status. “This is our home.

Members of the community gathered Tuesday in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood and argued that their home country, which in recent weeks has been plagued by political instability and civic unrest, is in no position to receive tens of thousands of returning citizens and their U.S.-born children. And after building up lives of their own in South Florida, the families don’t want to leave.

The Stone County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office released the names of all victims early Saturday.
Here’s what we know:

The sheriff’s office listed nine victims with the surname Coleman, from Indiana. The list included four children, the youngest aged just 1.

They were: Angela (45), Arya (1), Belinda (69), Ervin (76), Evan (7) , Glenn (40), Horace (70), Maxwell (2) and Reece (9).

Speaking to CNN International on Friday afternoon, Gov. Mike Parson said, “One lady lost nine of 11 members of her family. … I had a chance to talk to her, and it’s difficult to find the right words to say other than your thoughts and prayers are with her.”
The woman’s 13-year-old nephew also survived, the governor said.

Steve and Lance Smith
Steve Smith, a vacationing retired teacher from Osceola, Arkansas, and his teenage son, Lance Smith, died in the lake, said Glenn Oakes, a church elder at the Osceola Church of Christ.

Oakes said he was informed of the deaths by in-laws of the Smiths. Oakes said Smith was a church deacon in their 35-member congregation. “It was a great loss for the church,” says Oakes.

Smith’s daughter, Loren, reportedly suffered a concussion in the incident, but was rescued and was taken to a local hospital. Pam Smith, the girl’s mother, was on shore at the time of the accident. Lance Smith was 15 years old and his father was 53, police said.

Robert ‘Bob’ Williams
Williams, 73, was the driver on the duck boat.
“He’d talk to anybody,” his widow, Judy Williams, said Friday in a phone interview. “He made an effect on many lives. He would give up his life for somebody. That’s the kind of man Robert was, is.”

His grandson, Victor Richardson, told CNN: “He was a God-fearing man; he was very humble. He was the calmest spirit you could ever meet.”

Bob and Judy Williams were married for more than 30 years and lived in Branson, Richardson said.

William and Janice Bright
This husband and wife from the small town of Higginsville, Missouri, near Kansas City, died in the Branson accident, Karen Abbott, Williams Bright’s sister, told CNN affiliate WDAF.

The couple had three children, Abbott said: “My great nieces and nephews now have no grandparents.”

Police said Janice Bright was 63 and her husband was 65.

US Postal worker found dead in California after delivering mail in extreme heat, family says

A longtime U.S. Postal worker was found dead in her truck on Friday after delivering mail when temperatures reached nearly 120 degrees in Southern California, her family said.

Peggy Frank, 63, was found unresponsive in her truck around 3 p.m. Friday in Woodland Hills, FOX11 reported. Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the grandmother dead after several attempts to revive her.

The exact cause of death was not released, but Frank’s family believes heat exhaustion may have led to her passing. Friday was Frank’s first day back on the job after she was placed on medical leave for a broken ankle, her family said.

Frank had been working for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years.

Supreme Court sides with death row inmate after lawyer said he was guilty

Washington (CNN)The Supreme Court ruled in favor of a death row inmate on Monday who argued his constitutional rights were violated when his lawyer told the jury he was guilty, even though the inmate wanted to proclaim his innocence.

The ruling means the inmate Robert McCoy will get a new trial.
Writing for a 6-3 majority, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said that a lawyer “may not admit her client’s guilt of a charged crime over the client’s intransigent objection to that admission.”

Ginsburg said McCoy’s lawyer, Larry English, was in a difficult position as he sought a lesser conviction of second-degree murder in order to save his client from the death penalty. But even though McCoy was an “unruly client” and “faced a strong government case,” English’s proposed strategy to admit guilt “was incompatible with the Sixth Amendment.”

Woman blew up microwave at 7-Eleven with urine sample: cops

DENVER — A Colorado woman has been cited by police after a container of what appeared to be urine blew up as she was heating it up in a microwave at a 7-Eleven.

Police say the incident occurred in the convenience store chain’s Aurora location last week when the clerk heard a loud bang and saw 26-year-old Angelique Sanchez take a white plastic bottle out of the microwave.

A police report says when confronted by the clerk, Sanchez wiped a yellow liquid that smelled like urine onto the floor and walked out.

Police located Sanchez at a nearby clinic where she had planned to take a urinalysis test for a potential employer.

The Denver woman was issued a summons for damaged property. She could not be reached for comment.

2 dead, gunman at large in Central Michigan University shooting

Two people were killed in a fourth-floor room of a Central Michigan University residence hall early Friday morning, police and the university said.
The two who were killed were not students, the university said.

Sources told the Detroit Free Press that the victims are believed to be the shooter’s parents. The situation is believed to have started from a domestic dispute.

The suspect is still at large. He is considered armed and dangerous. The entire CMU campus and most of Mount Pleasant, where the university is located, is locked down while police from local, state and federal agencies search the area.

The person of interest is James Eric Davis, Jr. He is a black male, approximately 19 years of age, 5-feet-10 and 135 pounds.
Davis was released from the hospital this morning, shortly before the shooting. Police said they had contact with him late Thursday night and took him to a local hospital, where he was turned over to the medical staff for what police believe may have been some sort of drug-related issue.

Police said cameras located in the common area and exits of the dorm captured Davis leaving the dorm, headed north and running along train tracks. Police said they had recovered pieces of clothing along the tracks.

Friday is the last day before spring break. Many students had already left campus, but others were planning to leave today. CMU is asking anyone who is planning to come to campus today to pick up students for spring break to stay off campus until further notice.

University officials are asking them to go to a nearby hotel, where university staff will be on site to support the families.

CMU is a university of about 25,000 students, located in mid-Michigan. It is about an hour north of Lansing, the state capital and about 2 1/2 hours northwest of Detroit.

Gov. Rick Snyder also tweeted in response to the incident

Florida is the worst state in the nation in every way, new rankings say

Florida ranks dead last when it comes to rating the best states in the nation. Michigan ranks No. 1, the very best state in the union.

Let that sink in for awhile. Michigan, the state that gave us the Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent and Kid Rock (the poor man’s Ted Nugent), is 49 states better than Florida.

Thrillist’s Definitive and Final Ranking of All 50 States list ranked the states “based on everything.” Specifically, the states’ contributions to America, like inventions, food and drink, “somewhat productive famous people,” and unique physical beauty, among other things.

Passenger who fell overboard on Carnival ship was on her first cruise

The woman who fell overboard on a Mexico-bound Carnival Cruise Line ship was on her first cruise — a Christmas gift from her husband, her mother said.

Juwanna Brooks, 44, was identified by her mother as the woman who fell overboard Sunday while she was a passenger on the Carnival Triumph.

“I just want to believe that they’re going to find something,” her mother, Marilyn Winfrey, told CBS affiliate KLFY in Louisiana. “I just want to be able to put her to rest.”

Brooks was last seen falling overboard into the Gulf of Mexico, and the Mexican Navy was still searching for her as of Wednesday, the Miami Herald reported. She was on the second day of a five-day cruise that left New Orleans on Saturday for Cozumel, Mexico.

Brooks was talking to her mom in the moments before she went missing.

“I texted her up until dinner and that was my last time hearing her,” Winfrey told KLFY.

Brooks and her husband, who lived in Lafayette, La., even sent her a video before boarding the Triumph on Saturday.

“We’ve been trying to get in touch with the embassy in Mexico, but it’s a long process and we haven’t heard anything yet but they are still looking for her,” Winfrey told the news channel.

Her family is holding out hope Brooks, a 44-year-old grandmother, may still be found.

She also dismissed rumors Brooks may have jumped over the railing.

“I did hear rumors that she possibly jumped, but there’s no way she could, she’s only 5-foot-1,” she told KLFY. “There’s a lot of rumors going around and we don’t know, it’s still under investigation by the FBI. We’re still waiting we haven’t heard anything yet.”

Brooks’ fall was the second incident for the Miami-based Carnival in a matter of days.

A woman fell to her death from the balcony of her cabin aboard the Carnival Elation en route to the Bahamas.

Authorities have not released the woman’s name or why she fell.
